Until now the internet has had only limited effectiveness as a sales tool for real estate. The problem was three-fold: 3D graphics technology was too unadvanced, processor speeds were too slow to support what 3D graphics did exist, and broadband penetration had yet to reach critical mass. That said, in USA today, 80% of home buyers shop online first before buying offline. Clearly the consumer demand is there, but the technology has always been an obstacle. Until now.
With Ixibit's new technology, web-based 3D has finally come of age. Now, regardless of internet bandwidth or processor speed, Ixibit's breakthrough technology is the first to enable fully-interactive, photo-realistic virtual experiences online and in real-time. Visitors can tour the exact property they wish to buy, admire the view, and choose from and view various interior packages or change the colour of their kitchen counter tops. And that's not all. If the visitor wants to speak with a sales person, he or she can walk them through the property while conversing with them over video, voice, or text chat. Just as if the viewer were walking through the property with an estate agent, the sales person can answer questions, explain any optional upgrades and ultimately provide the visitor with the confidence they need to carry out the purchase. Again, all online and in real time.
While there are interactive 3D applications available offline, these applications aren't useful online because their file sizes are simply too large for the web, their visualization quality is far from convincing, and they only offer primitive interactivity, if at all.
